The Daily Grind for 9/9/06

I played golf at Shamrock Hills in Gobles, MI with my Dad and brother today. I started out well shooting three over par for the first six holes, then fell back to my normal level of play. For the record, I was one over par for 21 holes between last time out and this time.

At the golf course we saw the biggest frickin’ spider I’ve ever seen in Michigan. Its body was about 1.5″ long and it had bright yellow spots. I Googled it and came up with Argiope aurantia. There are also a lot of good photos at the Mr. Argiope site.

I set a homemade no-kill trap for the mouse living in our garage. Basically it is a pickle jar with some peanut butter in the bottom. There is a ramp from the floor to the lip of the jar so the mouse will hopefully fall in and be unable to get out. If I succeed in catching it, I will get a little cage and maybe a hamster ball. I’m sure Tara will have fun chasing it around the family room.
